Intro.

Kris and Dave met 19 years ago while Kris was in college and Dave was on his first of several enlistments in the Navy. We have 4 beautiful kids. Lucas is 16 and he is the best big brother ever! He loves his brothers and sister. He has been waiting a very long time to be the "big brother".

William, Logan and Jessica were born Oct.25 2007 at 33 weeks and 5 days! They only spent 10 days in the NICU and came home on their big brother's birthday- Nov. 5 !! This blog will be about the ins and outs of our crazy life.

No More Prevacid for Logan!!, New Toys

Yes, we are very happy to report that all went well at his GI appointment yesterday. We were given the go ahead to try a 2 week trial without the medication! The doctor said that he felt fairly confident that Logan would no longer need the medicine, but if we see an increase in Logan's discomfort during the trial then put him back on the medication and see him in 3 months. We have an appointment scheduled, but hopefully we won't have to go!

The day went fairly well considering that the whole morning schedule got rearranged for us to drive to New Haven for Logan's appointment. Of course tons of people stared and/or stopped us and asked questions.(still adjusting to that!) We were able to stay pretty much on time and got home for a little playtime and then lunch. The trio even all took great long afternoon naps.

The evening was a different story. Dave always works late on Thursdays and yesterday was no exception. Usually it is not a problem, but last night we had major meltdowns after dinner and I was unable to really comfort any of them. I would hold one, then the next one cried and so on. At one point I had all three screaming and climbing all over me! It is soo hard when they are like that. I wish that I had an extra set of hands, (or two!) Lucas was trying to help but all anyone wanted was me! It makes me so upset when I can't comfort them - I hate it! Dave got home at the tail end while I was changing everyone into their pj's and having bedtime bottles - Thank God!

In totally unrelated news- my good friend Darcy had her baby girl yesterday!! I am so happy for them and I can't wait to go over later today to meet Mackenzie!

In other news, our good friends Carol and Marc came over the other day and brought some cool new toys for the trio! I had been looking for a Little Tikes small slide and almost had one, but lost it to someone else. So I was extra excited to learn that they had one for us! We practiced a little on it and Jess and Will loved it - again Logan was not too sure. I have put it in the front area to bring out when we need a diversion as they are a little to small for it yet, but love to slide with help. They also brought over this cool garden toy also from Little Tikes. It has a little door and tunnel and all sorts of stuff to play around with. The kids love it - we can't keep them away!!! This was how I found Jess this morning -

OK, I need to go feed them breakfast - waffles and bananas, but thought I would close with this cute pic. Have a safe happy holiday weekend!

7 TH Grade !!!

How can it be that my "munchkin man" is now oficially in seventh grade?
We had a strange start to the day. Dave got up with the trio at 6:30, but Lucas was still sleeping when I got up at 6:40! Dave had forgotten that today was school - I rushed Lucas to get dressed and downstairs for breakfast. We had his alarm set- I even think I heard it - but he must have gotten up, turned it off and went back to sleep! LOL Anyway, with out any extra trouble - We had Lucas to school on time. He has decided to try his best this year and is off to a great start! Homework was done without any problems and he seems excited. He has the same teachers from last year until we move - so of course everyone asked him about his brothers and sister - He loved that! He even brought a wallet photo to show everyone. I think that today was hopefully the start of a great year for him!!

10 Months- Official Update

I just realized that I used the previous post about their 10 month update to explain the table food tale. Can you tell I was excited ! LOL Anyway, I thought I would try to give you all a little more info on each one.

WILLIAM (a.k.a. Wild Will or Snuggle Bug)

Will is a great baby. He is constantly crawling to me whenever I enter the room. He loves to snuggle and is the most anxious at new places and with new people. He dislikes crowds and loud noises. Definitely going thru some separation issues. His blond hair is getting long and those baby blue eyes can melt your heart. He has a cute laugh, but it takes some coaxing to get to hear it. He is also the quietest when it come to talking - you really don't hear much from him. While, he was initially skeptical of self-feeding, he has really taken off in the last week and will usually at least try to pick stuff up and eat it. He does tend to be a little picky and some stuff is a definite no go, but otherwise I think he has learned that some of the new foods taste better than the baby food. He has 7 teeth now and weighs about 16-17 pounds. He loves to play in and around the exersaucers and loves to practice his newest skill- cruising the furniture and gates of the family room. He knows the sign for 'more' and uses his own version at playtime and meals. I swear he knows who Dada and Mama are just not quite ready to say it yet. He is starting to enjoy baths and I love the extra snuggle right before bed after his bath- the absolute best!!

LOGAN (a.k.a Big Guy or Mr. Logan)

Logan is also a very easy going baby. He is the fastest crawler and again loves to crawl right to me as I enter the room. He is a little more relaxed than Will and loves to see new places, meet new people and explore. He is a very determined guy and once he sets his mind to do something - either help him or get out of the way. He has crawled over Jess and Will too many times already! However, this comes at a price - he also has quite the temper when he can't do something! His reflux has seems to be subsiding - we go this later this week back to Yale for another checkup. I'll keep you posted. He weighs about 17-18 pounds. He still is very lacking in the hair - just peach fuzz, but his baby blues can melt your heart in a second like Will's. Logan has a great smile and loves to laugh. He makes a lot of noise while "talking" but nothing sounds like anything yet. He also has learned the sign for 'more', but he doesn't try to copy it yet. He also know who Mama and Dada are. He is also getting better at self-feeding but has the hardest time. As I mentioned in the previous post, his pincer grasp is way worse than the others and it makes him mad both with self feeding and playing. He also still has no teeth! Whenever he opens his mouth, the food falls out which doesn't help his mealtime attitude. He also loves to play in, around and even under the exersaucers and is also probably the best at furniture cruising. He has been the least excited about bath and swimming, but last night's bath was the best one yet. What else I can I say - we love him!!

JESSICA (a.k.a. The Diva or J Girl)

Jessica is just a doll! She is still the smallest -weighing in at 15-16 pounds. She is getting long blond hair and has kept her blues eyes like her brothers. She still has only 2 teeth, but a few more should be here shortly. She is the talker of the group, go figure! Mama and now Dada are both in regular use. Not always to the right person, but at least she is trying. Jess is always with a smile and loves to be with her daddy. She has definitely got him right where she wants him. He would not have it any other way either! She can clap her hands and loves to start when we clap for her. She is still commando crawling, but gets faster with it everyday. She loves to stand and practice walking with you holding her hands. She does 'so big' and has learned the sign for 'more'. She actually has used the sign a few times and does it the best. Since just starting to pull herself up - she has been watching the boys and has started to cruise the furniture too. We are very glad that the gates went up when they did. She has the best manual dexterity and loves to self feed. She makes quite a mess, but she certainly is enjoying it. Jess is the water baby of the trio and loves to be in the pool swimming or taking a bath. Dave has even started to dunk he under and -- she LOVES it! She always smiles right after!

OK, I think that is the most important stuff. I am sure I'll remember more later, but I will be posting a lot this week. Lucas has school Wed and Logan has doctor appointment Thurs so I will try to post after those two days. Hope everyone is doing well and please comment - I would love to know who is still reading! thanks Kris

10 Months Old !!!

I know I say it every month, but Time is flying! I can not understand how each day can sometimes seems like an eternity with clingy, crying babies yet the months have flown by. I have even started to plan their 1st Birthday party!

The babies are all doing great! Our big news - No More Baby Food !! Yeah - my babies have been struggling with trying table foods and I admit I liked the ease and convenience of the jarred food, but I knew they were ready and wanting more. So for the last two weeks I have been adding a finger food to at least 1 - 2 meals a day. Some days it went great and others-- well you get the idea. Yesterday was a breakthrough. Even my pickiest, Will, was trying the food off his tray for the whole day! We had been stocked up on Gerber Graduates Toddler foods that I was anxious to try. I was excited to see them eating mac and cheese and peas and carrots for lunch. See-

They do get very messy and it takes a lot longer to eat, but I think they really are starting to enjoy it. Logan is having the toughest time- his grasp is not as good and still no teeth! He figures it out though! Dave made tuna casserole for dinner and they loved that too. I am still giving them oatmeal by spoon for breakfast, but today we also tried yogurt for the first time - they enjoyed it. Lunch will be pasta pick-ups, fruit snacks and cheese puffs. (all toddler versions of course) I hope it goes well. I know that some days will be better than others, but this is a very exciting milestone!

You Know You Are Short When --

Your almost 12 year old son is as tall as you!!

I have been noticing that he was inching up on me, but it really be came apparent last night as I was standing in the kitchen and he came over to give me a good-night hug and I was eye-to-eye with him!! Lucas loves it and thinks it great! Where has my little boy gone? I see him becoming more and more teenagerish (i know -not a real word) and I just hope he turns into a respectful, responsible teen.

In totally unrelated news - Dave found Jess STANDING in her crib this morning! She has been practicing a lot with this new position and seems to really enjoy it. She loves you to hold her hands as she "walks" around. She gets a huge smile and just gets soo excited!

I just noticed that the last several posts have not had any pics so here's a few. Enjoy!

This is the athletes getting to the starting line for the baby olympics!

Jess practicing her new skill- Come On Mom - Let me out!

How cute are they?

Lastly a video of Will busy chasing a balloon! He was very determined to get it.
Do you hear him laugh?
