Christmas '08 Recap

I am sorry that I have not posted, but it has been an extremely busy week. I guess that I will just start at the beginning and you will see what I mean. Things were very busy last Monday and Tuesday before we left. I was still wrapping gifts, doing laundry and figuring out what to pack for everyone.

Logan had a doctor appointment on Monday so Dave and I took the trio together. Logan is still having issues drinking whole milk and the doc was really not sure what the next step should be. We have kept him on 50/50 soymilk/milk and will continue until next week when we try a lactose free milk to see if that helps. Since we were with the doc I had him check Will who had been extra snuggly and running low grade fevers all weekend. Turns out that Will actually had an a minor ear infection! The doc said we could watch it for a few days or give him antibiotics. Since we were leaving the next day, we opted for the antibiotic which he takes three times a day and will finally finish on Thursday. This is our 1st ear infection, which is a big deal, since Lucas had soo many he had tubes put in at 14 months.

Everything ran smooth and we were packed and ready to leave on Tuesday afternoon. Lucas got home and we left around 4:00. We stopped for dinner along the way and dropped Lucas off at Grandmas around 8:00. We had hoped that the trio would stay asleep and we could get them into the cribs at the hotel without trouble. That unfortunately did not work as they woke up and stayed up for about 2 hours! We decided to unpack the van while they burned off some energy and then tried again around 10:30pm to put them back to sleep. They screamed for about 20 minutes, while Dave and I hid in the bathroom. I hated every second! We are never trying that again!
My mom gave us the hotel room as our xmas gift since we no longer fit in her house! LOL Lucas stayed with her and loved every minute. No Mom or Dad to bother him! The hotel staff were great and had two cribs already set up for us! We were able to have breakfast every morning and even took the kids swimming! We had to have a big room -

The picture really does not do it justice - it was beautiful and was actually a handicapped accessible room and had a huge bathroom.

My sister and neice arrived Christmas eve and we all got ready for dinner at Great Grandma's. Lots of family always comes from far away to celebrate. We have a huge Italian family and I see relatives at this meal that I don't get to see all year! I forgot to take a pic of all of them in their outfits, but they were really cute! Aunt K even did Jess' hair! It is always lots of fun and great food. The kids did great with all the "strangers" and ate a great meal. We had everyone in bed after reading the night before xmas with cookies and milk out for Santa by 8:00.

The triplets actually slept in a little xmas morning and we did not get back to Grandma's to open gifts until 8:30! All the kids got lots of stuff and it was soo much fun to watch their eyes light up. Lucas' favorite thing was the Nintendo DS and the many games and accessories he got to go with it.

Will had fun just playing with the wrapping paper but also enjoyed checking out the new toys.

Logan was excited with all the new trucks and spend tons of time spinning the wheels and trying to wrestle Will and Jess for his turn with the new toys!

Jessica's favorite would have to be her baby doll. She took it out and kissed and loved on it and never let it out of her hands! We did lose it for a bit, it was found, but Grandma had already gotten her a new one so now she has twins!

The kids had lots of fun with all their new toys and playing with their cousins. They were really well behaved even with all the new surroundings and changes to routine. It was soo much fun! I only wish we had taken more pics! I can't wait for next year! It was a great trip and now that we are home and unpacked I promise to get back to regular posting!

Ok, if you read this far you deserve a reward - more xmas pics! Enjoy!

One last pic, not xmas related, but I told Michele I would post this - they love their b-day present from her and Logan has found a new way to enjoy it!

Merry Christmas!!!

Well, we are all packed and ready to start our xmas holiday! I will be without a reliable computer the next few days while traveling and staying in PA with family, so I thought an early Merry Christmas was in order! I hope that this next year is a blessed one for all!

I will try to post, but won't be able to have pics until I get back next Monday.

Please everyone have a safe and enjoyable holiday!!

Snow pics

Well since it really did not start snowing until midway thru nap, we had to wait until just before dinner for there to be major accumulation. As I type it is still coming down hard! We did get everyone dressed and outside. The pics are not the best - snowing too hard, but we will try again tomorrow after the snow finally stops!
Dave just took this of the house.

Will wanted nothing to do with the snow. he would not even let me put him down - so we had to settle for this shot.

Logan and Jess were all excited, but only because we were! LOL They did sit for a few pics though. They sat still and were trying to understand what exactly was all this white stuff all around!

Hope you all had a great day and we'll try again tomorrow!

It's Snowing!!!

OK, they closed school in preparation for the big storm (we should get somewhere between 6 - 10 inches). We got the call around 6 am. Unfortunately, it has just now started to snow and it is 1:30pm! What a waste of a snow day. They should have had school and maybe an early dismissal. I can't wait to take the triplets out in the snow after their nap. I'll post pics later tonight!

Haircuts!

We took Will and Jess for their 1st haircuts on Saturday! Logan is still a little light on top so he did not need one yet! LOL
Here are Will's before shots.

Here he is getting all set. He never even cried and did a great job. Before you even ask, I saved a lock of his hair.

Here is the "after" shot. He looks like a toddler now! *sniff and sigh*

Here are Jess' before shots. Her bangs were getting too long and even though you can't see it too well her hair in back was growing very uneven.

Here she is in the middle of her haircut. Of course I saved a lock of her hair too. She did great and never even cried just like her brother.

We decided to just trim the bangs a little in the front and then bob the back to help it grow back more evenly.

Here is a good "after shot" of both Will and Jess from the back.

Make sure you scroll down and check out the holiday party pics! Have a great day!

Holiday Party

I try to get out with the crew at least once a week to a playgroup. I belong to a couple different ones. They are all great groups of ladies and I love that the kids get some playtime with other kids and I get adult conversation! Yesterday was one of the groups' holiday party. We had the whole Dudley crew. Here are Lucas and Will goofing off during the party.

Here's a pic of the gang eating their lunch before Santa arrives!

Before Santa came we tried to get most of the kids to sit for a group pic. Jess was mad that she had to sit down since she was having a great time walking around!

Will was almost snoozing on my shoulder when Santa called his name, so I quickly put him on Santa's lap, Dave shot this pic and I picked him back up before he even had time to register it and cry. Not sure why I have Logan's jingle stick either! LOL

Logan does not look to thrilled to be meeting the man in red, but he did great.

Meanwhile, since Jess was called after her brothers, she walked right up to Santa to get her gift which she was very interested in!

Monday Morning Updates

It was another quick weekend here. We have a few new things to tell everyone. First, Logan is finally getting another bottom tooth! It broke thru yesterday. I was getting worried and even discussed it with our dentist, but no need for xrays now. That brings him to 6 teeth. Jessica is also working on not one but two more bottom teeth! I hope they all pop thru without too much trouble.

Second, Jessica has now decided that walking is the way to go! She hardly ever crawls anymore. If she falls, she just gets right back up and continues on her merry way. She is so much smaller than her brothers - it amazes me how well she is doing. She can even carry toys or her sippie cup with her when she walks! Logan is right behind her and closing the gap fast. Will is still predominately a crawler, but I don't expect that to last for very much longer.

Our Christmas tree went up and the kids love to look at it. We decided to go the safe route and gate it off this year - it was way too tempting otherwise! LOL It takes up part of their play area, but they don't seem to mind.

Dave got our web cam up and running and were able to "see" Vani! It was great to see her and chat. We got to see her Mom and Dad too. It made me miss her all that much more, but she was able to watch the kids walk around the kitchen and she could not believe how big they had gotten. It was lots of fun. We also used the web cam to chat with my sister Karen and see Kayla. We plan on having more web cam conversations in the near future!

Friday night was St. Nick night, so Lucas put a set of his and the trips shoes out on the dining room table for St. Nick. He came and filled their shoes. See-

This is a relatively new tradition for us. We learned about it when Tim, our first German exchange student was here 2 years ago. We decided to continue on with it every year. Next year along with their shoes, they will leave St. Nick their xmas lists!

That is the latest for here. We have a busy week. Lucas' winter concert is tomorrow and the trio and I have another sign class. I have also started back working out at Curves. I am definitely feeling better even after only 1 week. I did not realise how much I missed it. Anyway, hope you have a great day!
