Intro.
Kris and Dave met 19 years ago while Kris was in college and Dave was on his first of several enlistments in the Navy. We have 4 beautiful kids. Lucas is 16 and he is the best big brother ever! He loves his brothers and sister. He has been waiting a very long time to be the "big brother".
William, Logan and Jessica were born Oct.25 2007 at 33 weeks and 5 days! They only spent 10 days in the NICU and came home on their big brother's birthday- Nov. 5 !! This blog will be about the ins and outs of our crazy life.
Is it possible to potty train in 3 or 4 days? If so, I think Jess is trained! I know we started last week, but really the last few days of "boot camp" seem to have worked way better than all of last week! The only time in the last 4 days she has had an accident is during nap and overnight! That's it!! She even woke up dry this morning. We are using pullups for nap and bedtime for now, but she loves to wear her big girl princess underwear during the day and will sometimes change them just because she is tired of what she has on! LOL
I got brave and we even left the house for about 1 and 1/2 hours to have lunch with dad - no accidents! She got a kick out of the bathroom at Wendy's! Playtime outside - no accidents! We do tell her very often to tell us when she needs to pee, but don't make her go every 20 minutes like we did the first day. She also figured out how to climb onto and off the potty herself and is so proud! I don't want to jinx myself, but I really think she "gets it"! Can it really be this easy? 1 down 2 to go!
I tried to get good shots, but these will have to do for now! I am working on a better update, but it will probably not be until late next week since I am going away this weekend! BY MYSELF!! My cousin is getting married on Saturday, so I am leaving Friday and coming back Sunday! I am really excited to have a mini mommy vacation!!!
I really wanted to get the kids a swing set this spring, but since we have no idea where we will be moving or (even when), we decided to get something that would pack easier - a sand and water table! I picked it up today while the kids were at school and Dad had them "help" get it ready after nap! Once it was ready - they headed straight outside to get it filled and play!
I think in the future it will only be a sand table - this is what it looked like by the end of playtime!
The other huge news - Jess is officially potty training! She has been peeing on the potty several times a day and showing us other readiness signs, so here we go! She picked out princess underwear at the store and we stocked up on pullups for nap and bed. She started yesterday and wore big kid underwear for about 3 hours before her first accident! The biggest challenge at this point is getting her to try every 20 minutes to use the potty. Will is also starting to show interest, but this week we are focusing on Jess! I foresee that I will be spending many, many hours in bathrooms over the next several months!
Having 3 - almost 2 1/2 year olds and a teen can certainly keep one busy! It was another great weekend filled with swim lessons, playing outside and just enjoying being a family! Friday was the start of Lucas' spring break! He is looking forward to being home and playing with the crew. I have to admit that I enjoy having him home too! (except of course when he is throwing a teen fit!) LOL I can't believe that he will be in high school in the fall! It seems like only a short time ago when he was as little as the crew! He is no longer a little boy, but becoming a man!
Since Jess started climbing into her climb last week, Logan has now joined her! They love to climb in and then laugh so loudly! Will just hold the side and waits for help! I know that toddler beds are in our near future, but I was also thinking about potty training Jess and probably Will very, very soon as well. Should I attempt both at the same time? If not, which would you do first and why? I could use some advice here people! Please!
