March is Flying By!

Wow - I blink and 2 weeks have gone by!  Yikes!   We have been busy as usual, but Jess and I were able to travel to PA for my cousin's wedding together!  It was soo much fun spending the weekend getting major one on one time with her.  We left on Fri the 11th in the morning, went to my cousin's wedding that afternoon! She was a great traveler and handled all the newness well.  She was quiet as a mouse during the wedding ceremony and I could not get her off the dance floor during the reception!  We stayed with my Grandma and Zia - they enjoyed spoiling her rotten.  We spent Saturday visiting/playing with several family members.  My dad made an awesome breakfast then Jess had a blast having cousin Michele all to herself while we visited with Aunt EJ and Uncle David.  In the evening, we visited with cousins Lisa and Bob and their 3 girls.  Jess was in heaven with all the girly toys!  lol  She even had a bath with Alivia and Ava - she cried when it was time to go - she was having way too much fun! We came back on Sunday afternoon and the boys were very excited to see me and their sister!  I enjoyed it so much that I decided that I am going to take both boys on their own weekends away with me.
While Jess and I were away in PA  - it was all the boys hanging out together!  Dave said he had lots of fun playing with the little ones and he and Lucas were able to get along. ( Trust me - Lucas and him getting along is BIG)
What else?  The weather gave us teaser spring week last week.  All the snow is melted and we even got outside several times to every one's delight and started to enjoy our backyard.  Swim  and gymnastic lessons at the Y are going great and I am going to zumba classes 2-3 times a week as well.
I was sick with a head cold for most of last week and am finally felling better!  Now,  let's hope that Lucas and the trio don't get sick!

Things have been busy around here!

First things first, Lucas has a new smile!  He got the top row of his braces on last week!  His orthodontic treatment time will be about 2 1/2 years and involve a surgery, but I know he will have a great smile in time for his senior year of high school!  He is adjusting well and was only sore for a few days.  The little kids did not know what to think when they saw him for the first time.  LOL

Last weekend, we took the kids to Olde Mystic Village for a chowder cook off.  We, and by we I mean Dave, Lucas and I, tried 5 different chowders as we walked thru the shops.  The little kids were content with juice and a soft pretzel, although Jess did try a spoonful or two of chowder! It was a brisk day, but the kids loved walking around, seeing the ducks and just being outside felt good!  A quick pic while we waited for Dad and Lucas to get some chowder -
see - they were way to excited to be outside to even look my way!  LOL

I am trying again this year to do a 365 blog with a pic a day, some days I remember at 11pm, but hey at least I remember right? Anyway after dinner one night I realized that I had not taken a photo and when I asked them to pose this is what I got -

crazy kids!  Love 'em!

This crazy mom let the kids use the couch cushions to bounce on!  When they got tired of bouncing they did not want to put them back and watched the last show before bed just like this -

Towards the end of last summer we heard about these floatation devices called puddle jumpers.  We even tried one a my friend's pool, but the kids were a little unsure  - NOT this year!  I found them at Target for $18 a peice and snatched them right up.  I know it is early to be thinking summer, but we have been swimming at the Y and thought they would be great!  and save Mom and Dad's arms in the process!  The kids were wearing them all around the house for the first few days!  see-
When we finally got them to the pool, Jess did awesome!  She loved being able to swim all by herself!  She also spent about half an hour just climbing out and jumping right back in!  She would go under, pop right up and just laugh with a huge smile on her face - definitely my water baby!  The boys did well, I think another time or two will have them enjoying the freedom too!

The little kids started a gymnastics class on Thursdays at the Y and they loved it!  Let's hope swim lessons (1st time without Mom and Dad for the boys!) go just as well on Tuesdays!!

Lastly, in other big news - we got into the preschool I wanted for the fall!!!!!!  They will actually be starting in July with their summer program and going Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 -1 for six weeks!  Then once the fall semester starts they will be going MWF 9-1130!  It is pretty costly, but I know that it will do both them and I a world of good!  They are already talking about going back to school! Can you tell I am just a wee bit excited?  WOO HOO!!!!

I missed another week so lots to blog about!

The above wall quote describes perfectly how I feel on any given day lately!  A fellow triplet mom, Sarah Freznick,  runs  http://www.vinyl.frizzymotorsports.com/  They have lots of great vinyl quotes and other vinyl products!  Go check them out and help out a fellow triplet mom!
The last two weeks have been extra frustrating.  When we moved the boys to big boy beds, naps were AWFUL!! They would play and run around for over an hour.  Bedtime was no issue since they were so tired from lack of nap, but oh my God, the whining, crying, and overall crabbiness was hard to handle all by myself while Dave was at work.  It made for one crabby momma let me tell you!  LOL  Towards the end of the week I had an epiphany - put them down a little later and see what happens.  I put them to bed at 2 and got a 2 hour nap out of them with almost no fuss! Woo Hoo!   I was very excited, but would it last?  The answer is YES!  Everyday since I have put them down around 1:45 and by 2 all three are sleeping!!!! I got back my 2 hour "break" and it is awesome!
Lucas went to the orthodontist last week and we finally have a game plan to fix his teeth.  He is getting braces put on his top teeth this Wednesday!  The orthodontist went over everything and explained the game plan  - top braces now, a surgery several months down the road along with bottom braces.  All in all it should take about 28 months.  He should have them off midway thru his senior year!  The price tag is definitely not pretty, but I know they are worth it!  Luckily for us they have a payment plan!  He better take excellant care of his teeth!  :)
We recently joined the local Y here in Mystic.  I have started zumba classes with some friends and the little kids have also starting taking classes.  The best part is chilcare is included in our monthly membership fee!  I was looking at going back to a gym, but paying a membership and then paying childcare was going to be expensive.  This way the whole family can come and enjoy.  They have lots of free classes like the zumba one and lots of other classes that you need to pay for.  They have a great indoor pool with lots of family swim hours on the schedule.  We took the kids last week and everyone had a blast! We are even luckier that we quailfy for some financial aid thru the Y as well so we are not paying full price for all of the kids to participate!  The trio is  starting gymnastics class and a gross motor skills class next week!  I signed the kids up halfway thru a class this term and met an amazing twin mom ( Hi Lisa!) whose girls are only 2 weeks younger than the trio!  We hit it off almost immediately!   I had never met a fellow blogger in real life, but hers is great!  Go check out http://www.mommyingonthefly.blogspot.com/ and read all about her, her husband and their twin girls! Really, she puts this little blog of mine to shame, but go read it anyway!!!  :)

It Finally Happened - The Move to Big Boy/ Girl Beds!!!

Today was a Big day here for the Dudley crew.  Logan fell out of his crib at nap time!  He was more scared then anything, but hurt his hand a little.  Dave and I had been talking about moving them soon anyway, so today was the day!  After they got up from nap, Dave went and took down their crib rails.  The boys were soo excited!  Jess immediately asked for her bed rail to be removed so she could be Big like the boys!  Let's hope this transition goes smoothly!!!

A group of triplet moms on Facebook were posting their trio's latest heights and weights and when I went to post I realized the latest ones we had were from their birthday in Oct!  So, since it has been 3 months we got new ones today!

Will -  28.2 lbs and  3 feet 1 inch tall
Logan - 30.2lbs and 3 feet 4 inches tall

I can't believe how big they are getting!
