Intro.

Kris and Dave met 19 years ago while Kris was in college and Dave was on his first of several enlistments in the Navy. We have 4 beautiful kids. Lucas is 16 and he is the best big brother ever! He loves his brothers and sister. He has been waiting a very long time to be the "big brother".

William, Logan and Jessica were born Oct.25 2007 at 33 weeks and 5 days! They only spent 10 days in the NICU and came home on their big brother's birthday- Nov. 5 !! This blog will be about the ins and outs of our crazy life.

Happy Birthday Lucas!

Today my "munchkin man" is 12! I can hardly believe it. He is growing up way too fast. I am starting to see glimpses of the man he is changing into. We have also hit the time in his life where we as parents are stupid and don't know anything. lol I just know that these next few years will be tough, but we love him more each and every day and want what is best for him!

Since today is a school night, we are letting him choose dinner and I made brownies to put candles on. He will be having a few friends over on Saturday for pizza, cake and a movie.

Lucas is a great big brother to his brothers and sister and has been a huge help to us this year as his world got turned upside down with the addition of not 1 but 3 little siblings! He is just awesome with them and they really love him!

Happy Birthday Lucas! We love you. Mom and Dad, Will, Logan and Jess too!

Election Day - Get Out and Vote!

Yes- this means you! OK, if this extra busy mom of 1 year old triplets can get her crew together, walk downtown and go vote - everyone else has no excuses! LOL
All kidding aside, I hope that everyone goes out and votes no matter who you vote for!

In totally unrelated news - I am attempting to rework the blog and I hope to have a new look later this week!

Have a Great Day!

Milk, Sippies and Naps - Oh My!

It has been a very interesting past few days with the trio. After the doctor gave us the go ahead to switch to milk on Wed, I put away the bottles and brought out more sippie cups! I decided to make a fresh start on Thursday so their last bottle was Wed. night. Thursday morning was a nightmare- Jess screamed and screamed and the boys hardly drank anything. However, after those initial minutes, Jess calmed down and settled for the sippie and the boys at least drank a few ounces. We almost caved in, but I am glad to say that *knock on wood* things have been going better than I expected. Dave gives them a sippie of milk before breakfast around 7 and I let them finish it with breakfast around 8. They usually drink about 6-8 ounces in the morning. I give them another sippie of milk with lunch and dinner. They only drink a couple ounces at those times. They only need about 16 ounces of dairy a day, a big drop from the 20-24 ounces of formula. I am also making sure to have yogurt and/or cheese with meals to help supplement their milk drinking to get the 16 ounces in them. Like I said it seems to be working and we are teaching a new sign - milk! I can't wait for them to start using additional signs. I know they understand a few, but have only really seen them use "more".

We are still toying with the nap schedule. I tried to drop the am 9-10 nap about two weeks ago and failed miserably. I posted about it so if you missed it search back a few weeks the post has a few cute pics. I think that I may give them a week or so of the 30-45 min am nap and then try again to drop it. It is such a pain to put them down for such a short am nap and without it they hopefully will not take 30 minutes to fall asleep at the pm nap time like they do now. UGH! Just when I think I have a handle on things- surprise! They go and switch something on me!

Since we have dropped bottles our evening routine is changing too. We now do baths every third night, pj's and brush teeth, story time and bed by a little after 7. Again they seem to not really miss that last bottle. I think that once the am nap is dropped the timing on this will change to be a little earlier, but who knows?

Happy Halloween!

1st Birthday Post

I still have not figured out where and how to post the 12 minutes of cupcake eating, but I promise to have it up soon! I wanted to post the pics I have and just jot down a few random things about the party. Isn't that sign cool? Their great-aunt drew it and sent it up for the party. I have it hanging in the dining room now because I love it!

We decided after Uncle Larry brought the trio some great outfits from Hawaii to do a luau for the party. I think that it turned out great. We had about 30 people come and celebrate with us. It was great to enjoy this special day surrounded by family and friends. Dave went to get Grandma the week before and my sister, niece and cousin drove up from PA. My dad also made the trip up from PA. (thanks guys!) We had the party after the long afternoon nap and it was lots of fun, but very chaotic! Present time was the most chaotic part and I really only saw a few things during the party. It was at home the next day that I went thru everything. They got some great outfits that I can't wait for them to wear. They even scored in the toy department and brought home several new toys they love to play with. Dave and I were a bit overwhelmed and I felt bad that I never really talked to many people or introduced everyone, but I think that everyone had a good time. Thank you to everyone and I can't say it enough! Dave and I even each got a gift - a certificate for a massage! Thanks Carol and Marc! We will be calling those in very soon. I can only imagine how much harder this will get as they get older. LOL

Anyway, I will stop talking and get to the rest of the photos since that is what everyone wants to see. Enjoy!

I had a hard time choosing a cake, but thought this one was a good choice!

I bought them each a teddy bear cupcake in their assigned color : Will - green, Logan - blue and Jess - pink. I had the crowns and tiara, but they never really kept them on for any pics.

This is a great before cake pic and the start of the eating. We sang "happy birthday" and Will got scared, but calmed down quick.

Logan got right into the cake once he figured out it was food. Will was a little hesistant, but soon was eating and disecting his cake like a champ. Jess was the least excited and seemed to not want to dirty her hands. She was happy to have Aunt Jen feed her her cupcake for several minutes - little diva!
