Spaghetti - Gate 2008

There was a messy crime committed in this house yesterday. A trio of the cutest pint sized people you ever saw ate an extremely messy dinner and then commanded to be cleaned up! Here are the criminals in action: Notice how cute they look even covered in sauce!







Of course after a dinner like that it was immediately bath time! They were very compliant and took their "punishment" well.


Finally, it was time for a clean mug shot to go into their records! Let's hope that these criminals have learned their lesson - at least for a few days! LOL!

Wednesday Updates

A few quick updates.

Logan's diaper issue is getting better. The cream is making a big difference. I bought some soy milk and that is what I gave him all day yesterday. I talked with the pediatrician and he suggested to give him 50/50 milk and soy milk for a few days and then 75/25 milk-soy milk to work gradually to full milk in about a week. If I see that he still is having major issues by Fri I am to make an appointment to discuss options. Let's all hope his system just needs a more gradual shift and that everything turn out fine. Last night the 50/50 did not go over well. He actually spit up a bunch about 30 minutes after he ate. I hope today is better.

I forgot to mention that we took the trio for their flu shots last Thursday. They did great and hardly cried. Dave and I have had our shots and Lucas gets his Monday. That way all our bases are covered! They did not qualify for the RSV shots because they are so healthy so at least the flu shot will give them a little protection.

Yesterday was our first baby sign class. There are only 4 kids in class, so we make up 75%! They did great and I learned 15 signs. The class is about 45 minutes, with signing and singing and playtime. The class is 5 weeks and 15 signs each week. I am excited for them to start using signs other than the sign for "more".

The Great Nap Experiment Take 2 appears to be successful! We have been down to 1 nap for a little over a week and half and it is going great. Jess does the best, with the boys some days taking a little 15 min cat nap. That usually only happens when we are home alone. It is tough to keep 3 toddlers awake and happy by myself when they want to sleep! LOL But even those cat naps have been later and later and for the last 3 days - no one power napped. They are now taking a great 2 1/2 - 3 hour afternoon nap! It used to take 30-40 minutes for them to fall asleep- now it takes maybe 5!

I recently got a few calls from Vani, our German exchange student last year. I have missed her lots and just hearing her voice makes my day! She is having an operation on her knee Friday. She has been in lots of pain, but is handling it well. Please pray that everything goes well and she has a quick recovery. The best part of the conversations - she will be coming to visit us in April!! We are super excited and can't wait for Lucas and the trio to hang with their big sister!

Monday Morning - ER visit and Walking videos!

OK, before anyone freaks out the ER visit was only for a very bad diaper issue. I had to take Logan in to get some cream for a blistering rash that woke him up extra early and made him miserable. It took about 2 hours, but we got home in time for a great pm nap! The doc thinks that it may be a milk problem since the only thing we changed lately was the switch to milk from formula - I have a call in to his pediatrician. I hope to hear something very soon.

Other than that it was a fun weekend here. I went to a triplet mom night out on Friday and had a great time as always with the ladies. Saturday night Aunt Jen and Uncle Larry came over to watch the kids so that we could go out and celebrate our anniversary. (huge thanks guys!) We had a great time and I realized just how important "couple time" is and how much we had been missing it! We are definitely going to add more of it into our schedule somewhere! LOL We ate at a Japanese steakhouse and then hit Coldstone Creamery for dessert. Jen said the kids did great. Everyone ate good and Jess was trying to say "Larry". The kids went to sleep with hardly any fuss.

The major news of the weekend is that Jess is starting to walk! The boys have been practicing for a while now and are getting better each time. Will can go several steps before he loses his balance and falls. He loves to practice going back and forth between Dave and I. Logan is doing the best and has started trying to walk everywhere! Jess has really only just started to try this weekend, but I think that she is a fast learner - already trying to walk sideways and backwards! Lol

Happy Anniversary!

I am truly amazed at how very blessed I am! I have four great kids and it was today 14 years ago that I married my soul mate. I was looking through the wedding album today and remembering life back then. The above photo is my absolute favorite. We both look so young and ready to take on the world together as a couple. If we only knew what the future would hold! LOL
Dave and I have been together for 15 years. We got married a year after we met after I graduated college. Dave was already in the Navy Submarine service and I was quickly thrown into the role of a submariner's wife. We have spent more time apart than either of us would like. It probably equals close to 4 or 5 years when you put all the months together over the last 14 years. We have moved many times, made and lost friendships, dealt with infertility and been through some rough times, yet we are stronger today because of everything. The Navy life is not for everyone, as the high divorce rate can attest. The divorce rate for parents of multiples is even higher, but I am very proud and happy to say that we are doing very well! Yes, our couple time has been greatly diminished and "date nights" are few and far between, but I would not change this life for anything!

Dave, Happy 14 hon and I can't wait to celebrate! Love you - Kris

Monday Morning Updates - College Football and the Great Nap Experiment Take 2

College football is a love of mine. I grew up watching Penn State football and remember learning very early on who JoePa was. (Joe Paterno is the Penn State head coach) I love watching football and am very excited to get the trio watching games along with Lucas, Dave and I. However, we have a big problem here at the Dudley house. While everyone who know me, knows I bleed PSU blue during the fall, Dave is a very faithful Michigan fan. He has never wavered even though I am constantly trying to sway him. We have lots of Penn State stuff all over and not one Michigan item up. Dave has been busy trying to convert the kids against me! LOL Lucas will say he is for Michigan whenever he is mad at me and wants to score points with his dad!

Anyway, I was super excited when the trio received their first PSU gear from Aunt Jen and Uncle Larry for their birthday. Larry is huge Ohio State fan and they also bought the trio OSU gear. As if I would let them wear it! LOL I think they look great, but I'm biased. What do you think?

This weekend was not a good one for PSU as they fell to Iowa, but I have hopes for a great end to the season and a great bowl game! WE ARE .... PENN STATE!

The other big news of the weekend was yet another go at trying to drop the am nap. You all remember a few weeks ago when I tried and failed miserably to drop it off the schedule. I think it was too much change too soon. Now, we are a few weeks into the no bottles, no formula routine and thought it was time for a second try. I would really love them to be down to 1 nap for the holidays that are fast approaching. Today is day three and so far things are again going better than expected. It has been a little tough, but they have managed to stay awake until 1230/100 and them take a good 3 hour pm nap!! Let us all pray that this continues this week without too much trouble.
