Intro.

Kris and Dave met 19 years ago while Kris was in college and Dave was on his first of several enlistments in the Navy. We have 4 beautiful kids. Lucas is 16 and he is the best big brother ever! He loves his brothers and sister. He has been waiting a very long time to be the "big brother".

William, Logan and Jessica were born Oct.25 2007 at 33 weeks and 5 days! They only spent 10 days in the NICU and came home on their big brother's birthday- Nov. 5 !! This blog will be about the ins and outs of our crazy life.

New Pictures!

I realize the last few posts have been very wordy without any pics so I will now have a post with lots of pics and few words! I will try to have a new pic or two per post from now on! Did you notice the new shots on the side too? Enjoy!

Here's the trio all set for the snow to start falling!

The boys adjusting to the 1 nap/day schedule about 2 weeks ago.

They all love to listen while Lucas reads them stories!

13 Months Old!

OK, everyone is napping so as promised - here is the latest and greatest with each of the triplets! Can you believe 13 months has gone by? I don't know where the time went, but I do know that toddler hood is coming very quickly!

William - Mr. Sensitive
Will is still our best snuggler. He is the "quiet one", but has recently started to really become more vocal. He likes to play off by himself while Logan and Jess fight over a toy. Will is now getting 2 molar teeth which brings his total to 10! While those early teeth did not bother him much, these molars are making him a little miserable and more clingy. Will loves to eat, but he is definitely the messiest as he shoves as much off his tray into his mouth as he possibly can. Then he cries when he can't swallow it all! We have been trying to give him bigger pieces of food that he needs to bite, but he still shoves it in. We spend a lot of meal time saying "Will please chew first then you can have more" thru his crying. He also had the roughest time dropping the am nap, but most days does well now, except for the occasional 15 minute power nap! LOL Will does not like elevators or sitting in shopping carts for very long, takes time to warm up to people- but once he does he is quite the charmer! Will loves to play and listen to music and loves chasing his big brother. He also loves to listen when Lucas, Dave or I tell stories. They all fight for the lap position! Will is still mainly crawling (very fast), but he can and does walk around the living room for practice. I think that he will be walking by his 1 year adjusted age so no worries! He is doing most of the stuff normal 13 month old kids do and since the doc goes by their adjusted age, she is very happy with his development and progress.

Logan -
Logan is our rough and tumble guy. He and Jess are still fighting for alpha and I don't think that will ever stop. He still only has 1 bottom tooth and 4 top for a total of 5 teeth! The lack of teeth does not hurt him in the eating department however. He has learned to chew/gum everything that Will and Jess eat. Logan also has the least amount of hair of the trio. I think that 1st haircuts may be soon for Will and Jess, but Logan needs to keep what he has and grow more before we even think about haircuts! LOL It seems that all the problems health- wise have been heaped on poor Logan. First the ventilator when he was born, then major reflux until about 10 months, he still has a bad abdominal hernia and his shoulder muscles are tight. The switch from soy to milk has not gone without problems, but I think we are at least headed in the right direction. He has started to walk everywhere! While is getting better and better at it, he tends to curl his big toe under and we have to try to help drop that habit by keeping him in socks and shoes. He does not like to keep them on at all! The physical therapist comes every few weeks to check his progress and give us new exercises to help strengthen and loosen his shoulder muscles. He is still working on a good "pincer grasp", but it is getting better. Logan loves to watch tv and signing time dvds. He loves to play with cars and trucks and spin their wheels. He is always ready for a story or dance to music - (I'll have to video and post- way cute!) Logan is also doing most things that normal 13 month old babies due, he just needs a little more time of others. All in all he is a very happy baby

Jessica - J Girl
Jess is our feisty one. We call her the princess and I think it is going to her head! LOL She know what she wants and lets you know if she does not get it. The faces she makes and the attitude she has -we are headed for trouble. She has her daddy wrapped completely around her finger, but Lucas and I are right there with him. She was one of the main reasons for dropping the am nap- she was skipping it entirely. Becaus of that, she adjusted the easiest to the 1 nap schedule. We just checked and she is also getting 2 molar teeth which will bring her total to 8. Her hair is getting long and as such may need to be cut soon. I hope to get some more lessons over xmas on how to put her hair up- I am a totally useless tomboy in that regard - so definitely need help! LOL She is the neatest when she eats and Dave loves towatch her take her tiny bites! I admit it is very cute. She is really starting to speak up and loves to talk to everyone once she has warmed up to them that is. I think she has even learned the duck sound. She loves to hear songs and listen to stories. Just last night she walked over to me with a book to read! She has passesd Logan and is the best walker I think. Although it is a very close race. She now walks everywhere until a trip up and even then she usually gets right back up. It is very funny to see her so small compared to her brothers, but walking better! She has been very healthy and also is making tons of progress and is again mostly on track with normal babies.

That about covers it for the major news. I want to close with a funny story. As I was getting them ready for nap today, Logan and Jess were actually playing together! I was changing Will and I heard them both laughing so I had to check it out. Logan was laying on the floor laughing and Jess was laughing and trying to tickle him! I am very excited to see them start doing this, but also a little sad because I know that this confirms we have toddlers now! :(

Monday Morning Update - Weekend Highlights

Wow, it was another busy extra long weekend. Dave and Lucas each had a 4 day weekend thanks to the holiday! I love it when we can spend time together as a family and the extra help thru the day is an added bonus! LOL

Thanksgiving was lots of fun. We watched the parade, went on a quick shopping trip, spend the afternoon watching football and enjoying our family time. Dave fried our turkey while I worked on the side dishes. I think everything turned out great and the triplets enjoyed all the "real food"! Last year at this time, we were really in our newborn fog and it was great to have friends and family here to help celebrate with us and enjoy a great dinner and help feed babies of course! This year was just us, but it was still a special fun day.

Friday, we did venture out for a little shopping. We went late morning as I was looking for xmas outfits for the boys to match Jess' dress that my mom had already gotten. I was able to find them at Babies R Us and they were on sale! WOOHOO!! I also got Lucas a great sweater to coordinate with the trio. We did not stay out long, we tried to avoid the huge crowds, and got home for an awful afternoon nap. They went down for bed earlier than usual so I guess that broke us even.

Saturday we went to Charleen's studio for a pic with Santa. We had all 4 kids set for the pic. Can you guess who did the best? Who do you think cried? Everyone? No one? Who was least thrilled to be there? I would love to hear your guesses!
I will have the pic in about two weeks to post - so start the guessing.

The weather was cold, but not too bad Saturday afternoon so Dave decided to get to work with the outdoor xmas decorating. Our neighbor was also out and between them I think that they did a great job! Dave is not totally done, but the icicles lights are hanging and the snowman is out with the deer. He hopes to finish nest weekend and that is when we plan to put up the tree. Wish us luck! I already have the gate ready to keep the trio away from the tree. Once everything is decorated, I will take photos and post them.

Yesterday was a pretty laid back day. The weather was awful- rainy and icy and slick out so we did not venture out except for a quick trip to the grocery store- the trio are going thru gallons of milk like no body's business! LOL I buy 2 gallons every 4 days or so. Since we were home most of the day we got them back on their regular schedule and they all took a great afternoon nap - Thank God!

OK, this post turned out to be pretty long. I will finish the 13 month update later today when they take their pm nap- promise!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just a short note from our family to yours -

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dave and Lucas are outside getting ready to fry our turkey - Yum! The triplets are still napping and I am just sitting here thinking about all I have to be thankful for. It has been an amazing year for us. Last year the triplets were only a month old and we were just starting to realize how hard life with three newborns and a preteen was going to be. This year I am so thankful that I have 4 great kids and a loving husband. OK, enough mush - I can't wait to give the kids some mashed potatoes and turkey! I am working on a 13 month update which should be up sometime soon. Hope everyone has a great day!
